I am an Assistant Professor in Information Studies at Queens College, City University of New York. I have a comprehensive and global education and teaching in LIS. I hold an MA in Information Science and Library Management from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, an international master’s degree in Digital Library Learning from three European institutions in Norway, Estonia, and Italy, and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from The University of Western Ontario, Canada. My current research center around areas of information behavior of marginalized populations (such as migrants), global librarianship, public libraries, social media, scholarly communication, and areas in EDI in LIS. I am the Vice-President/President-Elect of the Canadian Association for Information Science, chair of the ALA IRRT Membership Committee, an elected member of the IFLA North American Regional Division, and a member of the 2022-2023 ASIS&T DEIA Task Force.
