Bio

Zehra Taşkın is a faculty member at Hacettepe University, Department of Information Management (Turkey), and a researcher at Adam Mickiewicz University Scholarly Communication Research Group (Poland). Her main research interests are research/er performance evaluations, scholarly communication, and bibliometrics. Taşkın’s M.A. thesis proposed a solution to the problem of standardization of university affiliations in the citation indexes, and she designed a content-based citation analysis model for the Turkish Language with her doctoral dissertation. Taşkın’s works have been published in prestigious journals in information science such as Journal of Informetrics and Scientometrics. In addition to many studies in the national and international literature, she has written papers on scholarly communication in popular science journals. She worked for the editorial board of the Turkish Librarianship journal between 2013-2019. She serves on the peer-reviewer boards of various national and international journals. Taşkın has been involved in various national and international projects funded by Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA Poland), NASA Astrobiology Institute and Tokyo Institute of Technology, Earth-Life Science Institute. She also played active roles in TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) projects and the Libraries for Everyone project, which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
